Dream Painter
Dream Painter is the sixth compilation album by American country music artist, Connie Smith. The album was released in July 1973 on RCA Victor Records and was produced by Bob Ferguson. The album contained the single, "Dream Painter," which was a Top 40 country hit in 1973.
Background and release
Dream Painter consisted of ten tracks, nine of which were previously-recorded material. The album's only new song was the title track. The albums contained material from the 1965 album, Cute 'n' Country, 1966 album, Downtown Country, and the 1967 album, Connie Smith Sings Bill Anderson, among others. The album contained her final single released on RCA Victor, "Dream Painter," which reached a peak of #23 on the Billboard Magazine Hot Country Songs chart and #77 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks chart. The album itself also charted, peaking at #39 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart upon its release in July 1973.[1]
